AMC 2020 COVID-19 Statement
On behalf of the AMC 2020 Executive Organising Committee we wish to advise that we are working full time on preparations for AMC 2020 in Sydney and our plans for the upcoming Conference remain in place.
The Conference Organising Committee is carefully monitoring travel and public health policies relating to the current COVID-19 outbreak. We are aware that this is a rapidly evolving situation. Given the present situation and the information we have to date, AMC 2020 will be proceeding in Sydney in October 2020. Any changes to this decision will be communicated directly with all stakeholders.
Ensuring the safety of delegates, speakers, industry sponsors, organisational staff and all stakeholders in AMC 2020 is of utmost importance to us.
We will be providing frequent updates as we navigate the issues and challenges with this current situation.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2020 Australasian Melanoma Conference (AMC2020) to be held in Sydney, Australia from 23-24 October 2020. The conference, hosted by Melanoma Institute Australia, will bring together clinicians and researchers from across Australia, New Zealand and beyond to discuss exciting advancements in melanoma from ground-breaking discoveries to practice-changing clinical management.
Held at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, the conference will feature keynote addresses from national and international experts outlining the current research and clinical landscape of melanoma. Delegates will have the opportunity to focus on specific areas of interest including diagnosis, survivorship, and the treatment of early stage and advanced disease, with particular attention to new targeted and immune therapies.
We are proud to bring a patient-centric focus to AMC2020, and we are reminded why we dedicate our careers to benefit people with melanoma. Our theme is “Promising Futures”, celebrating how—thanks to advancements in research in the past decade—the future for melanoma patients is now promising. It also reflects on the idea that we have promising futures thanks to the many great minds working collaboratively towards our common goal of zero deaths from melanoma.
